MY STEM CELL
Experiment

July 15, 2003

It is happening - my treatment begins next week starting on Monday July 21st.

How do I feel about this? There are so many emotions traveling roller coaster style at the moment, it will be hard to express to all of you just how I feel.
First: Elated - that this is really happening. That there is something out here that holds much potential for improved health.
Second: Excited - to be a guinea pig/pioneer again - but this time with some real hope of success.
Third: Nervous - yes, it would not be human to show no fear, to not be nervous - for this is a trial, an experiment - but one that a few other people have already initiated, and have shown much improvement.
Fourth: Overwhelmed - that's a word I haven't used for a long time - but it fits. From finally making the appointment, to figuring out how to travel, finding a place to stay during this treatment, to gathering the necessary funds and wiring them to the clinic, wondering about what the future holds, how family will feel, how I share this with everyone...
Fifth: Starting the video - of how I am today and then monthly as we progress - to be able to share this experience with all of you. And we did do a short segment today, and guess what? I was so surprised to see how I actually am, how I appear to others - I was not aware of what I looked like to others - pretty darn scary!!! But it is me, and how I am...
Sixth: making this page - to update you. I will be leaving Washington state on Friday, driving by myself to California and - I must admit - I feel like an Astronaut - exploring new territory.

I will attempt to keep everyone apprised of how it all goes for me. So, keep checking back to this page - for more updates.
