Last update of this year and I am sure you would all agree "where did this year go so fast?" We have a new
and exciting year to look forward to, even though we work at living one day at a time, the thought of looking
forward is still there.
Will we see better news about stem cells and their utility in treating MS and other neurological disorders?
Will there be other new advancements in the medical field? Will humans learn to live together without
killing each other? Will the FDA and government approve expanded SCT research and more trials? And allow
those of us who want it, to have it? There are lots of questions for which the answers remain to be seen.
Big family news - my oldest grand daughter is now engaged and a June wedding is in the works. This is
exciting news for this writer and for her and her parents.
My treatment update this time regrettably contains little new. I had a viral infection that slowed me to a
crawl from the last part of November and well into December. No doubt this put my stem cell revitalized body
to the test! But even so I surmounted this challenge and for this am most thankful.
I am now back to exercising daily and almost back up to the number of repetitions that I had attained prior
to the viral infection. My health is good overall, but no more improvements have been noticed during this
time, or at the time of this entry.
The news to share that is of interest concerns the paleodiet, which has been a huge part of my life since the
stem cell treatment (And this at the suggestion of Dr. Payne, whose master's degree work in physical
anthropology concerned the role of diet in human evolution). By adhering to this diet I have shed 27 pounds
without any effort and have experienced greater vitality and energy. Interestingly, I went off the diet
during the Christmas holidays and basically had my body tell me in no uncertain terms to "get back on
course"! To eat as the human body was intended to eat. Now that I am back on this way of eating, my body is
happy again. If I were to recommend just one book to each of you, it would be "The Paleodiet" by Loren
Cordain, Ph.D., which you can find at book stores or online. I received this book for Christmas as a gift
and it certainly fills in all the blanks that were in my mind, plus it provides recipes, the best foods to
eat, those you should avoid and more. It is not a "fad" diet or one that requires that you purchase food
items through a diet center or salespeople but, rather it is a "way of eating" you can do out of your corner
grocery store for life. Dr. Payne also tells me that eating this way can relieve many of the aches and
pains and other symptoms many folks experience, and that it even help facilitate self-healing. Give this
some thoughtful consideration, as it just may provide you with better health and an overall uplifting of
the spirit.
I have one final notworthy thing to share: I will be going down to Mexico in a few weeks to have my 2nd
stem cell treatment! If I get as much mileage out of this baby as I did the first, I'll be dancing at my
granddaughter's wedding in June! Stay tuned.
Peace, Joy, Love, Compassion Jim
