A strong positive attitude will help bring about more miracles than any wonder drug.
This statement is born of personal experience, for without my own positive attitude, there is no doubt but that my body and emotions would be on a downward spiral. The matter of being happy despite this daily "challenge" is a major "miracle" for me. At least I believe it is, for a positive attitude has made life interesting and enjoyable, and each change is an adventure. And as all of you with MS know, every day presents new challenges, the likes of which most of us never dreamed would happen. But, they are happening.
Being positive in the wake of receiving the new CD34-/45+ Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell Treatment has also been helpful and the improvements, though not momentus at this point-in-time, are wonderful and have bolstered my positive attitude. My speech is definitely stronger then prior to the treatment, as is my balance, stability while standing, and even walking with support is easier. Overall my health has improved as well and that is always a blessing.
On December 7th I began use of a new injectable "neuropeptide cocktail" as I call it. This neuropeptide drug is injected intramuscularly and my prescribed regimen is to inject myself on the 7th, another the 14th and then every 3 weeks after that until the end of August. The cost? About $325 per injection. Pricey, yes, but at this very early stage I am happy that I agreed to give it a try. After the first self-administered injection, I found that my body was feeling much better overall by the very nexy day. The second injection was this past Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m. and Thursday morning I was up early - 5:00 a.m., doing exercises that felt better then they have in a long time. Then it was off to work on my internet business until 12:30 PM followed by a luncheon meeting at a local restaurant. I then dropped my lunch partner off at his home, then traveled to a nearby town to deliver a Christmas present and enjoyed a long chat with friends. Then I drove back home and worked until 6:30 PM followed by preparing my evening meal, doing a few chores in the kitchen, reading until 10:00 PM and finally going to bed at 11.
The entire day was a good one, the ole bod felt good, my outlook on life was better and when I did drift off to sleep it was a "good tired" feeling. This morning was also a good morning, followed by a full day of work.
Am I happy about having the stem cell treatment and doing the neuropeptide injection?
The answer - "YES" - yes I am happy about doing both - even if only to stop the progression of my Progressive M.S. The improvements are definite pluses which I am thoroughly reveling in.
Wishing all of you a Blessed and Joyous Holiday Season and a glorious New Year full of all that is best for you. By the way, you can view my online Christmas card with this link: Christmas Wish
